I don't mean to brag, but our community knows how to party (especially on the 4th of July!) Whether you're a resident or a visitor, Richmond's festivities offer something for everyone.
A Day Packed with Fun
The day kicks off with a fun run, a great way to start the day with a burst of energy. Following the fun run, the much-anticipated parade makes its way through town, showcasing local businesses, community groups, and dazzling floats. Get there early -9:30ish because parking's tricky. One of the best vantage points is on the lawn of The Round Church, or you may catch me watching from the bridge (if I get up that early, not gonna lie - I'm a night owl...)
The town green becomes the heart of the celebration, buzzing with activity throughout the day. Food trucks offer a diverse array of delicious treats, including my fav, Strawberry Shortcake! Leave room for the chicken BBQ - it's one of the best in the state.
As the day progresses, enjoy music from Volunteer's Green with music, karaoke and fun for everyone.
The grand finale, of course, is the dazzling fireworks display that illuminates the night sky. While this doesn't compare to the Burlington Waterfront fireworks, if you love the small town vibe, Richmond does not disappoint.
More Than Just a Celebration
Richmond's 4th of July festivities are more than just a fun-filled day. They're a testament to the town's strong sense of community, its rich history, and its commitment to preserving traditions.
The event also serves as a fundraiser for local organizations, with raffles (who knows? You might win a kayak!) helping to support vital community services. By participating in the festivities, you're not just having a great time, you're also contributing to the well-being of the Richmond community.
